Hi, I'm Alyssa.
Cooking has always been the way I take care of people. A pot of something good on the stove changes the whole feeling of a house, and I've never gotten tired of watching that happen.
Somewhere along the way, feeding the people around me stopped being a hobby and became the thing I most wanted to do with my days.
My cooking starts at the farmers market. I love walking the stalls, talking with the growers and letting whatever is ripest that week decide what ends up on the plate. From there I get to do the creative part: taking what's in season, what you love and what you can't eat, and building a menu that feels like it was made only for you.
What keeps me in it is being part of people's lives. Some weeks that means taking dinner off the list for a family that's stretched thin, so the evenings are for each other instead of the dishes. Other times it means cooking something beautiful for a birthday or an anniversary, and getting to be a small part of a memory someone will keep.
Either way my job is the same: make it delicious, make it easy, and leave your kitchen cleaner than I found it.
Alyssa
